Our New Chances Team

What a privilege to be working with these wonderful young talented people. If you would like assistance with or would like to create a blog, or website, members of my team can be contracted as a team, or independently.

The editor of our master team, Lisa S,  has extensive experience in the publishing field.  She most recently was the editor of her hometown newspaper, where she also occasionally posted columns. In the past, she was a substitute teacher, when the need arose.  In the very past, she operated a print shop, where she was called upon to operate equipment from data entry, to design to operation of the complex offset printing machinery.  She was thrilled when technology advanced to full color printing.

From her position at the newspaper, she was cognizant of all the charitable services in the community, and directed enquiries for contributions to those most in need.

She loves motorcycles, and rides at every chance.  For many years, she rode escort for Gold Star military families, escorting their loved ones to their final resting places.

On a family note, she took care of her mother and moved her into her home when she was unable to care for herself.  Both of them loved a joke, and found experiences hilarious, that would sink many others. She is a mother of three children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren whom she loves and adores.

Thank her for making the blog materials readable, properly formatted, punctuated, and grammered.

I am honored and privileged to have her for a friend.

Photographer and Graphics

Rachel Gareau is the photographer, graphics editor and social media manager for Our New Chances. She is an artist who specializes in mixed media including collage, double exposure photography and fiber art quilts. In her professional world she has been a children’s art teacher, seamstress, and photographer. She has been a photographer for over 20 years working with both digital and 35mm formats. To continue following her passion, she built a darkroom in her basement to continue perfecting her craft.

When she is not in her darkroom or art studio, she can be found outdoors in her garden or hiking in the Pacific Northwest. She is the proud mother of three spectacular humans and two beautiful dogs.

Web Designer

Leanna VS is our website designer for Our New Chances. She is passionate about building a platform to elevate a voice so that a community can come together and be supported. She first started building websites as a kid in the 90’s on expage and similar platforms. She is currently building websites for personal and business use.

One of her major skills is organizing ideas and concepts from others and developing it into a project outside of their skill set.

She has predominantly worked in ecological restoration and is moving on to landscape design with a focus on bringing pollinator habitats to urban landscapes in the Pacific Northwest.

She has a varied background, as a roller derby player, and as a scientist.
